Sustenance for The Spirit
One of my very favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 17:7,8:
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
This is a mighty tree. It’s interesting that there are a number of significant trees in scripture, including the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the Fig Tree, the Burning Bush (because we call Mesquite Bushes trees) and then there’s the mightiest tree…Calvary. Be the tree in Jeremiah and you will be pointing to Calvary. Spread your branches today. Be the tree!
